Otto J. Bostic, 99

Otto J. Bostic, 99, of Williamstown, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, entered into his eternal rest Thursday, Feb. 22, at his residence. Born Saturday, June 28, 1924 in Gallipolis, OH (Gallia County), he was the son of the late Otto and Daisy Bostic.

Otto led an adventurous life, leaving a legendary impact upon so many lives. In 1943, Otto was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Geraldine E. Boster, a union that lasted 66 years; she preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 2009. Upon graduation from Cadmus High School in Cadmus, OH, he entered the United States Army Air Corp during World War II where he served as a Radio Operator on a B-25, one of America’s most famous airplanes of WW II. It was during that war that American veterans earned the right to be called “The Greatest Generation”.

Over the years, Otto‘s life was a memoir of many exciting adventures, among those were owning and operating a jewelry store for many years; he was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Columbus, OH and held membership in the Masonic Lodge (West Virginia).

He will be sorely missed by his two daughters: Barbara J. (Ira) Gayheart of Dry Ridge and Diana Hunt of Highlands, NC, along with his four grandchildren: Tiffany Montague of New Liberty, Tonya (Richard Hardesty) Gayheart of Wheatley, Kaitlyn Hunt of Paradise Valley, Arizona and Cameron Hunt of Scottsdale, Arizona; and his six great-grandchildren: Riley Montague, Addison Montague, Mallory Hardesty, Caroline Montague, Lucy Hardesty and River Jessen, all of whom lovingly called him “Grandpa”. In addition to his wife, Geraldine, he was preceded in death by all his siblings, which included five brothers and two sisters.
