Grant County Middle School was a battlefield Feb. 23 and 24 as a group of budding actors and actresses presented the play, “The Entire American Revolutionary War in 40 Minutes or Less.”

Playwright Eddie McPherson’s fast-paced historical comedy hit all the high points in the colonies’ struggle for independence, covering everything from the Boston Tea Party to Bunker Hill.

“While putting this play together, we wanted to give the students the creative freedom to really make the play their own,” said director Hannah Newman.

In the rehearsal process, they “created things that might not have been implemented otherwise. The dedication they had and their flexibility allowed us to add life and energy to the production,” Newman explained.
